As-Built Documentation & Drawings
A reliable, current record of what is actually built, for structures where the drawings are missing, wrong, or out of date.
Many existing structures have no reliable drawings. Originals are lost, superseded by undocumented changes, or never matched what was built. As-built documentation reconstructs an accurate, current record of the structure from measurement, so engineers, owners, and contractors can plan works against reality rather than assumption.
Veritas Structures produces as-built documentation from reality capture: terrestrial LiDAR and photogrammetry establish accurate geometry, which is translated into 2D drawings or a 3D/BIM model depending on the need. Where structural arrangement matters, GPR and cover surveys locate reinforcement and structural elements that are not visible. The result is documentation that reflects the structure as it stands today.
As-built records underpin almost every downstream activity: structural assessment, refurbishment design, change of use, tenancy fit-out, and dispute resolution. Accurate dimensions and arrangement reduce the risk and contingency that undocumented structures carry, and they prevent the costly surprises that emerge when work begins against incorrect drawings.
As-built deliverables integrate with the broader Veritas Inspect 3D model and are anchored to the Veritas Ledger as part of the permanent asset record. Subsequent modifications can be captured against the same baseline, keeping the documentation current over the life of the asset.
Deliverables
What's Included
Methodology
Our Process
Scope and Accuracy Targets
We confirm the purpose (assessment, refurbishment, fit-out, dispute) and the accuracy and level of detail required, which drives the capture method and deliverable format.
Reality Capture
Terrestrial LiDAR and photogrammetry capture the structure geometry. Where reinforcement or concealed elements matter, GPR and cover surveys locate them.
Modelling and Drafting
Captured data is translated into 2D drawings or a 3D/BIM model per AS 1100 and, for BIM, ISO 19650 conventions, documenting the structure as it stands.
Verification
Deliverables are checked against the capture data and any existing drawings to confirm dimensional accuracy and flag discrepancies between the records and reality.
Delivery and Anchoring
As-built documentation is delivered in standard CAD/BIM formats, integrated with the Veritas Inspect 3D model where engaged, and anchored to the Veritas Ledger as part of the asset record.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I need as-built documentation?
Because decisions made against wrong or missing drawings are expensive. Refurbishment, change of use, fit-out, and structural assessment all depend on knowing what is actually there: member sizes, arrangement, and often reinforcement. As-built documentation reconstructs that record from measurement, removing the assumptions and contingencies that undocumented structures otherwise force into every project.
Can you document reinforcement that is hidden in concrete?
To a useful extent, yes. Ground-penetrating radar and cover meters locate reinforcement position, depth, and spacing without breaking out concrete, which is sufficient for many documentation and assessment purposes. Where exact bar sizes or detailing are critical, this is supplemented with selective, made-good opening up. The captured arrangement is recorded on the as-built documentation and anchored to the asset record.
Do you deliver BIM models or just drawings?
Both, depending on need. For many existing-structure purposes, accurate 2D drawings (plans, sections, elevations) per AS 1100 are sufficient and cost-effective. Where the asset is being managed in BIM or a richer model adds value, we deliver a 3D/BIM model following ISO 19650 conventions. The same reality-capture data supports either output, and both integrate with the Veritas Inspect 3D model.
How accurate is the as-built record?
Geometry captured by terrestrial LiDAR is typically accurate to a few millimetres at working range, and photogrammetry adds high-resolution detail. The documentation reflects that accuracy. We confirm accuracy targets up front because they affect the capture method and cost, and deliverables are verified against the capture data before issue. Because the record is anchored to the Veritas Ledger, its content and timing remain verifiable.
